Throughout the 1990s, Ken developed skills in business management and leadership through education at Seneca College, Algonquin College, and the Canadian Police College, while serving as a police detective. In 2000,Ken founded KPLJ Investments, an independent finance and mortgage origination company, and led a dynamic team responsible for the funding of over $300 million in residential and commercial mortgages over a 4 year period. In 2002, Ken entered the direct-selling industry. For more than a decade, he traveled the world, building teams and teaching sales and marketing strategies. Ken has been personally responsible for building teams that have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for their associated companies. Ken self-published his first book, Being the Change, which has sold over 100,000 copies. His second book, The Most Important Minute, met even greater success. By the time Ken partnered with three colleagues to publish his third book, MLM CPR, Ken was starting to see a flaw in the self-publishing business world. In 2012, while studying at his home in Toronto, Canada, Ken began lamenting over the virtualization of books and the millions of legacies that would be lost. The vision for Rebel Press was born! As Rebel Press’s founder and CEO, Ken is focused on leading a team that is committed to changing the book-selling industry and providing the highest level of service and support in the publishing industry. Rebel Press is a customer-driven company that prides itself on successfully meeting its authors’ needs and goals. Ken lives with his wife, Julie, and children, Matthew and Laura, in Toronto, Canada.
Chief Operations Officer
Rod has been involved in the Internet technology field for more than 20 years. He started building computers and setting up some of the first web-sites online in the early to mid-1990s. He spent much of his working life developing and maintaining an advanced worldwide office and warehouse networks and e-commerce websites in a multi-million dollar import/wholesale company, where he served COO and CTO until 2006. For the last 6 years, Rod has owned and operated his own search engine optimization and online e-commerce consulting business, with clients in North America and throughout the globe. He has also been involved in the conversion of tens of thousands of public domain works into digital formats that can be read on any e-book reader. Rod also works with his clients to develop a new online presence or to take an existing website and redevelop it, resulting in a more efficient business with greater goals and increased customer service and satisfaction, resulting in more business. Rod has years of experience working with graphic designers, programmers, webmasters, dedicated servers, and all other technologies needed to develop and launch a world-class website. Rod’s projects and clients’ sites have been responsible for millions of dollars of online sales.
Morgan is known for her ability to get things done, and that is what she does for RP and RP authors. Morgan has a Bachelors and Masters in Economics and a Masters of Divinity. She brings years of strategic planning and analysis to the RP team. She also has vast experience in project management, marketing, and personal coaching. When she is not helping authors, she catching up on her reading list.
Editor in Chief
With over 14 years in the editing business, Simon brings a wealth of experience and oversight to the editing staff. He has ghostwritten, co-authored, and/or edited hundreds of manuscripts, both fiction and nonfiction. He also has an extensive article-writing background in multiple genres. As a teacher and speaker, Simon has originated, developed, and taught two semi-annual 12-week writing courses: “Writing Newspaper and Magazine Articles: Becoming a Freelance Writer” and “What to do with Your Idea for a Book.” He has taught writing workshops in the USA and Canada, and is also a member of several prominent writing organizations and conferences. Simon has loved writing since he was a young boy. In grade 9, his English teacher gave him a “12 out of 10” for a story he wrote. By the grade 11, he was writing term papers for his friends. One of those friends received a note from a teacher that said, “Stop asking university students to write your papers.” Over the years, his passion for writing has increased, and his great love is to help others get their “message to the masses.” Along with his wife, Trish, Simon is the dean of CCI, Christian Counseling Institute, a State of Michigan licensed and accredited counseling school, where he teaches counseling courses. He has a B.A. in Christian Studies, a Masters in Pastoral Counseling, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Christian Counseling. Simon and Trish currently reside in Clinton Township, Michigan, where they love to spend their free time riding around in their 1986 Camaro IROC-Z.
